Advanced Tremolo Harmonica Lessons

These lessons provide building blocks for strong playing. There are music phrases and scales which appear constantly, a short cut to playing well is to practise them over and over. We show how.

We start with a powerful scale exercise, then introduce tune endings and common phrases. Then we show how to play fast (the trick is to start slow). Simple but effective patterns for backup playing are outlined, as well as common chords. The aim is to understand what other musicians are playing, so you can join in.

The tremolo harmonica is a diatonic instrument, designed for one key only. However, similar to the 10 hole harmonica, "second position" and "third position" allow one harmonica to play in several keys. These lessons show how.

The advanced lessons provide fundamentals needed to explore and expand the tremolo harmonica repertoire. The journey awaits.
